This Church of Northeast Wisconsin is the unified desire among prayer-dependent, relationally-driven, missionally-minded congregations. We are governed by the principles of Policy Governance for open accountability with clear objectives and outcomes.
Congregations willing to be affiliated with The Church of Northeast Wisconsin will appoint a pastor or elder from their parish/congregation to serve as a “Community Elder.” Each community will have multiple “Community Elders” who gather for prayer, relationships, and mission for a measurable community impact.
“Community Clusters” are sub-regions within Northeast Wisconsin. For instance, the “Fox Valley” is a cluster of communities representing Appleton, Neenah, Menasha, Kaukauna, etc. just as the Lakeshore Cluster represent communities like Manitowoc and Sheboygan.”
Each Community Cluster with multiple Community Elders shall appoint one Community Elder to represent their Cluster as a “Governance Elder.” Because The Church of Northeast Wisconsin is governed according to the objective principles of Policy Governance, Governance Elders hold each Cluster accountable to our common objectives. Every decision is clearly articulated as a policy. Every policy is reviewed annually by Governance Elders who clearly delegate ongoing ministry responsibilities to the Executive Director.
“Policy Governance” is pro-active and objective opportunity for leading this delicate organization. We seek to honor denominational identities and heritage in such a way that offers the opportunity to work together for the sake of our local communities. All policies are posted and available for anyone to review.
“Church” is a collection of local congregations/parishes.
